Young Norwich City defender Tyler Williams has signed his first professional contract with the club.

Williams, who recently turned 17, has made 19 appearances for the Canaries’ under-18s, scoring once.

Thirteen of those games came last season, while he’s played six times for Greg Crane’s struggling under-18 Premier League side during the 2023-24 campaign.

Speaking of the contract, he told official club channels: “I'm delighted. It's been a long journey, and it's taken a lot of hard work to get here, but I'm proud that I've got this far.

"I can't rest on what I've got now, and I've got to keep pushing and get to the highest level that I can.

"It's always an honour to play for the club, and I'm grateful to Norwich for allowing me to put on the shirt and represent them every time I step out and play for them."
