Jaden Warner makes his first Championship start this afternoon as Norwich City face Blackburn Rovers at Carrow Road.

He partners Shane Duffy in the centre of defence, replacing the injured Ben Gibson for the first time this season. Onel Hernandez comes in for Christian Fassnacht on the right, while Marcelino Nunez is favoured to Adam Forshaw in midfield.

Jack Stacey replaces Kellen Fisher at right-back, with Sam McCallum back on head coach David Wagner's bench.

Blackburn captain and top scorer Sammie Szmodics returns from injury to feature for the visitors.

Gibson suffered an injury to his metatarsal and will be absent from the matchday squad until Christmas, according to Wagner.

Club captain Grant Hanley played 67 minutes for Alan Neilson's under-21s on Friday after recovering from a long-term achilles injury, and is expected back in first-team contention before long.

Jacob Sorensen has had another fitness setback, having sustained a pelvic injury in pre-season and missed the start of City’s Championship campaign. He played for the development squad as they beat Charlton Athletic 5-0 during the international break, but needs further surgery after injection therapy was unsuccessful.

Ashley Barnes (knee ligaments) will be back after the international break, while Josh Sargent is still expected to be absent until the new year with an ankle ligament issue.
