Here is Paddy’s verdict on David Wagner’s Norwich City, who contrived to throw away a Championship win against Daniel Farke’s Leeds.

• Angus Gunn              5

Departed just past the half-hour mark with what his head coach labelled a muscular problem at the top of his left leg. Looks set for a scan in the coming day or two to assess the extent of any potential lay-off.

Got his angles right at his near post to drop on Georginio Rutter’s hit at the second attempt. Was waving Glen Kamara’s angled effort goodbye, but it veered wide of his far post.

• Jack Stacey                6

Reacted but too late to try and get out to prevent Crysencio Summerville whipping a strike from just outside the area past George Long, via a post, to draw Leeds level. Did do enough in the first half to pressure Joel Piroe who guided a left footer wide.

Another last-ditch sliding block on Summerville saw his shot spiral over in the 37th minute. Bright in the first half with some overlapping darts and link play involving Gabby Sara and Jon Rowe.

Forced Illan Meslier to parry in the 69th minute when he cut infield and let fly but Adam Idah spooned the rebound over, although the Republic of Ireland international was flagged for offside.

• Shane Duffy              6

Goals at both ends for the Irishman. Showed the instincts of a striker to come towards the near post and glance Sara’s opening corner past Meslier. But got the last touch to Dan James’ cutback, which appeared to brush Long and rear up against the defender on his goalline.

Failed to intercept James’ throughball for Piroe chance in the 25th minute. Back inside his own six yard box increasingly in the final stages with another block from James.

• Ben Gibson                5

Sensed the danger to deflect James’ early shot over his par. Released Onel Hernandez with a perfectly-weighted clip to escape the Leeds press.

• Dimi Giannoulis      5

Ball watching for Leeds opener, when he was attracted to Rutter’s run and got himself squared up for the blindside burst of James. Only a minute earlier had snapped in on the Welshman to release Rowe. Likewise twice inside the opening 30 minutes.

Usual probing work going the other way. Rode a challenge and cut the ball back for Sara, who rifled wide of the far post from the same area he later scored. Then another first time pass for the Brazilian to release Sara and in turn Idah for a shooting chance. Also triggered the crossfield move that ended with Jack Stacey testing Meslier.

• Kenny McLean ©                   7

A man possessed at times in the volume of his closing down work, particularly in a 15 minute spell after half-time when Norwich were starting to exhibit distress signals. Snap tackle three minutes in set the tone to release Rowe.

Then the threaded ball for Idah, but Joe Rodon shut the door. Sparked the first Sara shooting chance when he set Hernandez free. Then repeated it with a stunning raking pass for the Cuban to pick out Sara to do the rest. But backed into his area by Summerville for Leeds winner.

• Gabby Sara                8

A fourth goal and a fourth assist in his 12 league games this season underlined again his critical creative important to this side. At the hub of most of Norwich’s best attacking work in that opening 45 minutes. Dropped a corner into the perfect zone for Shane Duffy to attack.

Dragged a first sighter wide of the far post before turning provider for Idah, who was closed down by two defenders. Dancing feet saw him lose Kamara with a drag back then veer between three more defenders to crack a rising close range shot past Meslier.

Teasing free kick shortly after the interval appeared to hit Kenny McLean and bounce just wide. Then Meslier pushed another set piece away in the 66th minute.

Vision and awareness to release Stacey in central midfield to test the keeper. Wagner did made a post-match point of questioning the decision to go for a diagonal free kick delivery to the far post that sparked a Leeds counter for the winner.

• Jon Rowe            6

Tracked Sam Byram into his own box to win a free kick six minutes in. Exchanged passes with Liam Gibbs at the other end but Meslier’s high starting position won the foot face. Central pocket again to turn and release Stacey to earn a home corner.

Tried the step over to buy a shooting chance but his shot was blocked. Quieter second half in line, with Norwich’s fitful attacking work. Whipped in one cross after linking with Dimi Giannoulis that was cleared.

• Liam Gibbs       4

On the margins again in that chief support role to Idah. One cushioned pass set Rowe free. But struggled to get on the ball and too often found himself detached from the Irishman as he went searching for work.

Did help out Stacey in one first half moment, when he retained possession in a tight spot to switch the play.

• Onel Hernandez                6

Earned his assist when Sara despatched his cross. Gave highly-rated youngster Archie Gray an uncomfortable first half. But also guilty of some poor turnover work.

Lost the ball inside his own half that ended with Kamara’s angled finish just dropping wide of Angus Gunn’s far post. Deflected strike over in the 40th minute. Good strength just before the hour mark to hold up Giannoulis’ flick pass and roll it around the corner for Sara.

• Adam Idah                 6

Far more aggressive and much better with his back to play and defenders for company than many of his recent solo outings. That urgency was demonstrated in the 21st minute when he earned a free kick and jumped to his feet to immediately look for the more advanced Gibbs.

Robbed Rondon high up the park in the 13th minute but the Welshman got back with a sliding block. Closed down in the 39th minute as he approached the penalty area. Pinned Rodon to release Rowe in the 72nd minute.

Subs

• George Long (for Gunn, 31)                5

Beaten three times, two of which were excellent finishes, but his handling was generally secure and made an excellent stop to foil James in the 76th minute down low at his near post. Paddled away another Wilfried Gnonto strike.

• Tony Springett (for Hernandez, 61)                4

Tracked back to halt a Leeds counter in the 73rd minute. But did not get close enough to James to stop a goalbound effort Long clawed around his post.

• Adam Forshaw (for Gibbs, 77)           n/a

Strange decision to initially try and press, and then had no chance with Summerville’s searing turn of speed for the winner.

• Christian Fassnacht (for Rowe, 78)                n/a

• Hwang Ui-Jo (for Idah, 78)                    n/a
