More than 70 children aged from six to 10 years braved the snow and freezing temperatures to compete in the Norwich Penguins Learn to Swim School's beginners gala held at UEA Sportspark earlier this month.
Norwich Penguins, the main feeder school for UEA City of Norwich Swimming Club, were holding the gala to give the youngsters their first taste of competitive swimming and allow the teachers to assess how well the children had progressed.
All teaching centres - ranging from Thorpe, Drayton, Colman Road, Heartsease, Earlham, Hethersett and Recreation Road - were well represented with some very impressive swims.
If you would like your child to learn to swim, call the swimline on 01603 463282.
