Revealed: The 10 most expensive homes sold in Norfolk in 2017

Using the latest figures from the Land Registry, we’ve compiled a list of the 10 most expensive properties purchased in 2017.

At the top of the list was Saltmarsh House in Burnham Market, which sold for a whopping £3.1 million.

Set at the top of Herrings Lane, the impressive six-bedroom house takes in panoramic views across the countryside and coast, has an eye-catching square design and has won a number of awards.

Will Lightfoot, Manager of the Burnham Market branch of Sowerby’s said: “Designing and building the property was a long process but the result was a house quite unlike anything else both in its style and its use of materials.

“It was designed to catch the sunshine throughout the day and to ensure that every room has a view; it offers spacious, contemporary living areas without feeling cavernous and it incorporates modern technology throughout.”

The second most expensive property sold was Great Witchingham Hall in Great Witchingham, the former base of Bernard Matthew, which was snapped up for £2,250,000.

Following on from this, the third most expensive was Morley Old Hall in Morley St Peter.

Built by the Sedley family, who acquired it in 1545, the Grade I listed manor house features an Anglo Saxon moat and cost its latest owners a cool £1,940,000.

Roydon Hall on Hall Lane in Roydon was also in the top five, selling for £1,790,000.

The seven bedroom Georgian country house boasts a swimming pool, tennis court, a three-bedroom coach house flat and sits in around 10 acres of land.

All the other properties in the top 10 sold for more than £1,000,000. These included Orchard Farm House in Saxlingham Nethergate, 165 Newmarket Road in Norwich, 60 Morston Road in Blakeney, Pstwick Lodge in Postwick, The Grange in Brundall and Margaretta House in Clenchwarton.
