Most boys love their toys but when you're a top professional football player, you can afford very large toys and an even larger house in which to play with them!

Property editor Caroline Culot went to visit the lavish and very stylish home of a Norwich City star, at Wicklewood, for sale for a guide of £1.3 million with Warners.

I'm not going to use the cliche 'size doesn't matter' except I just did. And it does matter when you are a top football player. Estate agent David Warner explained the need for a large home; to house family and guests - often footballers will have people to stay, usually connected with the profession. You need your own gym to keep fit and enough garden to kick a ball around....!

And then, there's the boys' toys. I've seen some palatial homes in my decade as property editor but nothing quite prepares you for how large over 7000 sqft is! The games room is simply cavernous; you've got three large games tables in there as well as a suite of sofas, massive TV and adorning the walls, several framed football shirts, the only big clue as to who lives there. By the way the footballer isn't leaving, but wants a home nearer the city centre so there's no transfer that I know of on the footie cards!

The games room leads to a fully equipped gym converted from one of the garages and upstairs are two bedrooms which could be converted into a separate annexe if needed. Like much of the house, these bedrooms boast luxurious deep carpet, the sort your feet just sink into and disappear and like this entire house, the rooms are beautiful.

Apparently, the footballer's wife has dressed the house and she has done a fantastic job, making it a home but incredibly stylish. The room leading into the games room is a massive study with a beautifully painted shelving structure where there were bunches of white flowers arranged along with the numerous books. There are too many rooms for me to mention on these pages; so I'll pick out my favourite features.

I loved the large glamorous entrance hall with an imposing central staircase, beautifully crafted from oak. You have a 'wow' kitchen; porcelain floor tiles, gleaming, sleek units and walls painted in sage along with comfy sofas and sliding doors along one entire wall looking out to the acre garden (where goal posts could be seen.)

I would borrow a little girl to be my daughter just so she could have the pink girl's room which was so pretty and, like the boy's room, has a large en suite bathroom. The master bedroom was just so beautiful; with silk drapes and vintage mirrored bedside cabinets and as a centrepiece, an enormous vase filled with flowers. The en suite boasts an egg shaped contemporary bath and an 'in and out' shower. As for the dressing room, I was just so jealous! There are eight bedrooms in total, six en suites and glamour and style in abundance. Yes, this is a supersized home but it's super stylish too.
