Norwich City go into the game against Reading determined for a victory following a run of bad results.

To help Chris Hughton's men, the Evening News launched the Yell Army campaign yesterday calling on fans to turn Carrow Road into a cauldron of noise on Saturday afternoon.

Former captain Craig Fleming, who now manages Lowestoft FC, said: 'Sometimes people don't really appreciate what difference it (the crowd) can make.

'I remember being 4-1 down to Middlesbrough and the noise levels got turned up and we drew 4-4. It made a huge difference. The crowd just took off. You are never out of the game.

'It is very easy when things are not going well to have a gripe – but get behind the lads during the game.'

Ex-city striker Dean Ashton also recalled Norwich's comeback against Middlesbrough in 2005 for the effect fans can have on the team as he added his backing to the campaign.

'When we were fighting relegation it was making a huge difference,' he said. 'When we got that draw against Middlesbrough it gave the fans something to shout about.

'If the team can get them (the crowd) on side they will make a difference.

'It helps the team build confidence during the game.

'The weekend is a massive game and everybody should believe. Norwich as a city is very football based and very passionate. I'm sure if they can get behind the players they can make that 12th man.'
