A father-of-two is running the London marathon to help raise money for a charity which helps his disabled nephew.

James Legg, 40, will run the 26.2 mile course on Sunday, April 21 in aid of Scope.

The runner, who has completed three half marathons and works as a finance director at Norwich-based technology firm Comm-Tech, secured his place in the race through the ballot but has decided to run to raise money for the Scope, which supports disabled people and their families.

He hopes to raise at least £1,000 for the charity, which is close to his heart as his nephew Garry, who is 28, has cerebral palsy.

Over the years Scope have provided help and support for his family and Mr Legg is running to show his appreciation for the charity, as well as to raise awareness.

Lives in Great Yarmouth with his wife, Samantha, and their two children, Matthew, 15, and Kerry, 12.

'My family have been very supportive,' he said. 'Running the London marathon has been a lifetime ambition for me. I would like to complete it in less than five hours.'
