Work has begun on a Transport for Norwich (TfN) project that will improve cycle routes between Wymondham, Hethersett and Norwich.
A new 3.3k path will be built between Wymondham and Hethersett, which will link existing paths at either end.
The end result will be a 7k cycle route running from Tuttles Lane in Wymondham through to the Thickthorn roundabout, just outside of Norwich.
John Fisher, TfN councillor, said: 'Wymondham and Hethersett are both due to see significant development over the coming years. The facility will provide a high quality link between areas of new housing and Norwich city centre.'
As part of the project, existing footways will be widened, junctions will be narrowed an realigned to reduce vehicle speeds and street lighting columns will be installed to illuminate the route.
