Chapelfield Music Stage

Chapelfield Gardens (1pm-10pm)

? 1pm-4.30pm — BBC Norfolk Introducing will be showcasing local bands for an afternoon of the best of Norwich's up-and-coming bands. It is the third year that the radio show — which supports unsigned and under-the-radar music from across the county — has curated a showcase for the celebrations and this year's line-up looks to be the best yet. Among those taking to the stage will be indie-pop outfit Bearsuit, fresh from a prestigious date at Spanish music festival Primavera, and Twisted Piglet, finalists in band contest DISScovery and soon to play dates with pop icon Lulu. Others performing include Cakes and Ale and We Can't Dance.

? 5pm-6pm — Described as 'handmade hip hop blues soul', London's Belleruche have a distinctive sound: think Sarah Vaughan, Django Reinhardt and Cut Chemist stuck in a lift with a sampler. The trio — Kathrin deBoer (vocals), Ricky Fabulous (guitar) and DJ Modest (decks) — the band signed to respected Brighton label Tru Thoughts in 2007 and their debut album, Turntable Soul Music, was released to admiring reviews both at home and abroad and becoming the fastest-selling debut album in the label's history. If Lamb and Portishead are your thing, then Belleruche will be right up your street; pure soulful jazz with scratch and textures aplenty.

? 6.30pm to 7.30pm — Kasa Masa are a five-piece band led by London-based Congolese singer, songwriter, drummer and dancer Nickens Nkoso. The outfit, consisting of d'jembe, guitar, saxophone, bass and drum, give a contemporary twist to the traditional sound of remote equatorial African villages. To add that extra exotic touch they are also joined occasionally by a balafon player, an MC and o female dancers. Incidentially they are named after a river, the Kasai, that lies in the heart of the rain forest where many tribes such as the Pygmies still maintain their traditional lifestyles.

? 8pm to 10pm — While tickets for the Take That tour may have sold out within minutes, Norwich fans of the boy band are in for a treat. Tribute performers The Magic of Take That will take to the stage complete with sing-along hits spanning Patience, Back for Good, Greatest Day, Never Forget, Relight my Fire and How Deep is your Love. Whether you've still got that crush on Gary or Robbie has regained your soft spot, the show is set to feature a cast of expertly choreographed and talented singers, true-to-life vocals plus special effects. In fact, Jason Orange himself was impressed, saying: 'They were brilliant, better than us…they had the mannerisms, they had the outfits, the haircuts. They were just all a bit taller, a bit more handsome and better singers and dancers!'

The Forum Music Stage

Millennium Plain (1pm-10.30pm)

An all-day eclectic mash up of up-beat performances outside The Forum. Everything from hip hop, beat-box and a musical theatre showcase from young performers from The Garage to award winning international opera and West End artist Benjamin Lake and unusual and spectacular spinning and turning dance performers Whirling Dervish. Dance performers will include modern Indian dancing with Bollywood Sparkles, the dancers and acrobats from Heather Milan School of Dance and ballet and contemporary dance from Slanted Dance. There will also be inventive and hilarious ventriloquism from Fusion before the evening gets a rousing finale from the ever colourful Norwich Samba.

Street Mayhem

Norwich City Centre (7pm-10pm)

This year the celebrations again features a fantastic line-up of street performers to amaze, delight and entertain. Some strange and fun acts and characters will be popping up including law-onto-themselves double-act The Wardens who have been empowered with the jurisdiction to enforce any rule or law they see fit. These may include: breathing too loudly, walking on the cracks in the pavement without a permit, wearing a loud shirt in a built up area or possession of an offensive child. In Brigg Street, The Human Dukesbox will be performing your favourite tunes, live and on demand. Watch out in Rampant Horse Street and outside City Hall, for Granny Turismo — Doris, Mary and Marge on their souped-up shopping trolleys. There will also be the opportunity to get your photo taken by 1950s style pap act Digital Paparazzi.

The race is worth about 5,000 of the 360,000 total we need, so it's a big chunk, and will help us towards the project being underway in 2012.' Each duck costs 2 and there are prizes for the first four across the finish line ranging from 200 to 50. Some of the money raise will also go to the Lord Mayor of Norwich's civic charity, which this year is Big C.
