A weather warning has been issued for Norfolk and Waveney due to heavy rain which could cause flooding at the beginning of next week.

The Met Office yellow weather warning is in place from 9pm on Sunday and all day Monday with the southern and eastern parts of the region expected to see the worst of the rain.

Some places could see up to 70mm of rain which will be accompanied by 'strong to gale force northerly winds.'

The warning states: 'There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

'Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures and where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.'

The Met Office added there is still some uncertainty of where the heaviest rain will fall, with the warning in place down to Kent.
