We've put together a selection of photographs of Waterloo Park going all the way back to the 1950s.

1. Pictured is Waterloo Park children's play area in 1991, where there was a colourful sign for measuring children and the play equipment was colour coded.

2. In 1962 it was reported in a Parks Committee meeting, that nearly £1000 had been spent on repairs to Waterlooo Park pavilion, a chorus of committeemen cried 'It can't go on'.

3. On the 24th of August, 1991, folk fans packed Waterloo Park for an afternoon of sun and sounds. Organisers estimated about 2000 people turned up to hear music from local artists; Jack Orion, Damien Barber, the Last Straw Band and the Adventure Club.

4. After the daffodils came the tulips. Waterloo Park in Norwich provided an attractive setting with its quaint waterways flowing around the now-forgotten bandstand - possibly taken in 1964.

5. In this picture is the restaurant, terrace and dance hall at Waterloo Park, which was said that it never recovered from being used as a mortuary during the war. As of the 1960's the entrance to the top was kept locked, and the lower part was used by the Civil Defence.

10. With canopy of pink cherry blossom overhead, the roadway through Waterloo Park provides a pleasant picture. It also provided plenty of work for the gardener who has to keep the resulting carpet of the fallen blossom under control – pictured on the 8th of May, 1971.
