While the thought of PE lessons may bring back memories of cross country around a muddy field, pupils at two schools were treated to a lesson they will never forget for a very different reason.

Children at Cecil Gowing Infant School's usual PE teacher stepped aside for one class only, as Norwich City star Elliott Bennett took over.

He showed off his moves in a Year One dance lesson - much to the delight of the class and teachers.

After strutting his stuff, he joined Year Two for a question and answer session to give the children an insight into the life of a professional footballer.

'It's a great experience coming into schools and seeing the smiles on their faces,' said the 25-year-old City midfielder.

'It's good to see infant schools are taking activities like P.E. really seriously. The children are genuinely happy to see you, with big smiles on their faces.

'The kids seem to really enjoy it. It's fantastic to be part of the community and be welcomed as well as we always are.'

Midfielder Conor McGrandles also took part and visited a tag rugby tournament at Bawdeswell Community Primary School in Dereham where he took part in passing drills with students.

The visits, at two of Norwich City Community Sports Foundation (CSF)'s partner schools, gave pupils the chance to meet some of their Norwich City heroes, as part of the ongoing link between local schools and the club.

CSF Schools Development Officer. Joe Harvey said: 'It's great to be able to bring City players, such as Conor and Elliott, along on these school visits. They are positive role models for the children and help us continue to promote the importance of sports and the benefits of leading an active lifestyle.'
