UPDATE: Wroxham death “not suspicious”
The death of a woman pulled from the Norfolk Broads last week is not being treated as suspicious.
The 54-year-old, identified as Susan Marie Spear of Compass Towers in Heartsease, Norwich, was recovered from the river near The Avenues in Wroxham shortly after 6pm on Sunday, March 27.
Inspector Stuart Bailey said: “Detectives from the joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team (MIT) can confirm the death of the woman in Wroxham at the weekend is not being treated as suspicious.
“A post-mortem examination has been carried out and a full inquest will take place in due course.
“At this stage the man arrested in connection with the incident remains on police bail.”
An inquest into her death was also opened and adjourned today in Norwich.
Norfolk coroner William Armstrong told the inquest that the cause of death was given as drowning.
Earlier this week the scene was cordoned off with police tape and a single bunch of flowers had been placed there.Do you have a story for the Evening News? Contact reporter Donna-Louise Bishop on 01603 772438 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
