For one night only, Norwich's handpicked undiscovered talents are coming together to deliver a spectacular evening of music and entertainment.

Students from the Norwich Business School who are on the MBA degree course are hosting the event Hidden Talent at Dragon Hall on July 16.

More than 15 acts will take to the stage including Alex Sheppard, Girl in a Thunderbolt, Ain't Misbehavin' and Lee Vann.

Hidden Talent, which starts at 5pm, will be opened by the Lord Mayor of Norwich, Jenny Lay.

The music will start and finish with harpist Rod Davidson, who recently performed at Norwich Fringe Festival.

The evening will also include performances from True Escape, Killamonjambo and guitarist Matthew Nobbs.

Yusuf Anjolaiya, the organiser and an MBA student, said: 'I just like music and I enjoy every kind of it. We are promoting diversity.

'We are working with Access to Music who have agreed to supply all the instruments.'

The students are holding the event to raise money for Dragon Hall.

Jummai Arome, marketing manager for the project said: 'We are aiming to raise 5,000. We have to keep our local history to share with future generations.

'People should come along to witness first hand the talent in our community and to support local artists, to have some fun and to see what can be achieved through really caring about music, history and people.

'They should support Dragon Hall and provide an audience for these great show-people.'

There will also be a bar and a barbecue and a raffle with cash prizes. Jummai added: 'The event is important to bring people's attention to the talent right under their noses.

'The event is important to us a culturally diverse group – we have worked together over the past two months to bring it together and have learned so much about each other's cultures along the way.'

Tickets cost 9 and can be purchased from the UEA box office on 01603 508050, Beatnicks on 01603 616445 or at Soundclash in St Benedicts Street.
