On Tuesday Sasha Fountain from Dereham was one of the many students to mark their graduation from the University of East Anglia.

The day turned into double celebration when Miss Fountain's partner Mason Durrant got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The 21-year-old, who graduated with a first class degree in philosophy, may have spent her degree pondering the big questions in life but said she had been not expecting Mr Durrant's. 'I was completely oblivious. Everybody knew except me. It's quite funny really when you're not expecting it and when someone plans it for months. I'm really, really happy and very pleased, it's all a bit surreal.'

Miss Fountain, who is training as a primary school teacher, said they would wait until she completed her training before planning the wedding.
