There's less than two weeks left to get your hands on a share of the Evening News' £50,000 Community Cash jackpot.

Up to 100 groups in and around Norwich could benefit from the money, and all you have to do is apply.

The Evening News, in partnership with the Norfolk Community Foundation and Sport Relief is offering the money to charities, projects and groups doing their bit for the people of Norwich.

That means everything from music groups for toddlers to lunch clubs for older people, covering sports clubs, playgroups, community festivals, churches, theatre groups along the way – in short, any organisation that improves life in the city.

We’ve given away more than £100,000 to groups like these in the past two years.

You could use the money to fund the refurbishment of your clubhouse, pay for a day out for members, build a new website, purchase sports equipment or organise a festival.

The deadline for grant applications is Friday, March 9, and Evening News editor Tim Williams will be part of the panel handing out the cash.

Last year, more than 50 groups were awarded up to £1,000 in the Community Cash campaign, which was put to use in a variety of ways. Norwich art group Sweet Arts funded a 12-week creative programme for vulnerable women, while the Norwich Development African Refugees Organisation put their grant towards a one-day project encouraging community cohesion.

To qualify for a grant, groups must be working in a disadvantaged or deprived area of the Norwich City Council local authority area and have an annual income of less than £100,000.
