Tributes have been paid to a Norwich man who died aged just 41 and would have been known to thousands of revellers in the city as a nightclub doorman.

Wayne Sutton's family are still in shock after he died from two heart attacks after being taken to hospital with a possible burst bowel. He had been in good health before and was planning to start a new job working on the land near Snetterton in Norfolk, after being a doorman in venues across the city, including Qube, in Prince of Wales Road, and Media, in Rose Lane, for about six years, and working for Steve Barber's security specialists.

Mr Sutton, who lived at Heathgate, Norwich, was also a security guard for several years at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Mr Sutton's mother Diana Yates, who lives with her husband Don in Barnsley, said: 'He was a happy, bubbly person who had time for everyone; a lovely lad, and very friendly. He loved his food, especially Chinese.

'I cannot believe how many tributes have been posted on his Facebook page. I remember him jumping up and down when he was about four and we nicknamed him 'Pingu Penguin'. It's strange what you remember.'

Mr Sutton's sister Rachel Morant added: 'He was just a really bubbly character. He could have the room laughing within minutes. He was very proud of his family. He enjoyed farmwork, which he started to do after going to agricultural college, before he went to work in security, which he did not enjoy as much.

'He wanted to get back to doing farmwork and was due to start a new job in farming before he passed away.'

Mr Sutton was born in March, Cambridgeshire, and the family moved to Norfolk when Mrs Yates' husband was transferred to RAF Marham. He worked on the land in Watton, and then moved to Norwich after splitting up with a partner.

He died at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on October 24, and the funeral will be at Foulsham Holy Innocents' Church at 2pm on Wednesday, November 14, followed by cremation at St Faith's Crematorium.

People are asked to wear black and red to the funeral, as Mr Sutton disliked anything drab. He leaves behind two sisters Rachel and Mandy and three brothers, Gary, Darren and Adam.
