Part of the A11 will close in Norfolk after it was damaged by extreme heat.
The northbound carriageway has been closed between Besthorpe and Thickthorn after today's high temperatures left the road in a dangerous condition.
A police spokesperson said: "The northbound carriageway has been closed for the safety of motorists after extreme heat damaged the road surface.
"Please find alternative routes ."
Elsewhere in the county, part of the A47 has been closed in Hopton due to an ongoing field fire.
