Out There Festival, St George's park, Great Yarmouth and at various locations around the town, September 4 - 9:

The Out There International Festival of Circus and Street Arts celebrates its fifth year this year.

Now the largest festival of its kind in the east of England and one of the largest in the country, it has rapidly gained an international reputation for presenting some of the world's finest circus and street arts shows.

The festival began in 2008 with a mixture of theatre, visual arts, music and a sprinkling of street arts.

'We quickly realised that street arts were what audiences in Great Yarmouth responded to' says Seachange Arts' executive director, Sarah James.

'We were looking to celebrate different cultures and communities. Street arts and circus are very much about spectacle or comedy – aspects everyone from any walk of life and any background or nationality can enjoy.'

An Evening of Burlesque, Pavilion Theatre, Cromer Pier, September 2:

After a successful run in the West End, this tantalising yet tasteful, camp and colourful show will arrive at Cromer Pier as part of a national tour.

It's all tease, and no sleaze, as corsets, killer heels and stocking aplenty combine exquisitely with music from across the decades as elegant showgirls combine Parisian charm with Las Vegas glamour.

Performers who have taken part in the tour so far include Amber Topaz and 0oLaloo evoking pin-up magazines of the pre-world war two era, while Kalki Hula Girl brings circus clowning bang up to date.
