Within hours of Norwich City announcing the gig featuring X-Factor stars JLS and Olly Murs there were tickets available on the internet for much more than their the face value of 32.50.

Although this is not illegal, buying tickets for events in this way leaves music-lovers vulnerable to ticket scams and unscrupulous ticket touts, particularly on the internet.

Ann Jackson, senior trading standards officer at Norfolk County Council, has reminded people intending to buy tickets for the big Carrow Road concert to remain cautious they are buying from safe sources.

She said: 'The company you buy from needs to have a geographical address and a working phone number as they are not supposed to be operating without under the Business Name Act.

'As long as customers have been told the face price of the tickets then it is allowed but as ever, the best thing to do is shop around.

'The best method of payment is usually by credit card as well because if the fee is over 100 and is a victim of fraud then it is protected by the Consumer Credit Act in nearly every way.

'If anyone has been scammed then we would really like them to call our consumer direct line on 08454 040506 so we can put out warnings.'

People are advised to get their tickets from any of: www.gigantic.com, www.ticketline.co.uk or its phone number on 0844 888 9991, www.seetickets.com or 08712 200 260, www.ticketmaster.co.uk or 0844 844 0444, www.ticketfactory.com or 0844 338 0338 and www.ticketqueen.com or 01379 741106.
