In many ways, it is fantastic to see Norwich Airport expanding.
Flights to worldwide holiday destinations is a great service for city residents right on our doorstep and it will bring a huge economic boost to our area - as well as raise the profile of Norwich and Norfolk around the world.
But we must be careful that in our pursuit for growth, we don't harm the living conditions of our residents and those who make this such a fine city to live in.
Those who live nearby are understandably concerned at the increase in passenger numbers - from 520,000 to 1.4m by 2045 - and the potential of flights as late as 1.30am.
Many will want to see the growth this area deserves, but it cannot be at the expense of those who live here. Balancing those two important factors will be key to any expansion's future success.
