Teenage trio arrested for metal theft

Three teenage boys have been arrested in connection with metal theft in Norwich.The trio, who were detained yesterday morning (April 30) after the vehicle they were travelling in failed to stop for police, were all arrested on suspicion of theft following an incident where a quantity of lead was stolen.

The trio, who were detained yesterday morning (April 30) after the vehicle they were travelling in failed to stop for police, were all arrested on suspicion of theft following an incident where a quantity of lead was stolen.

A 15-year-old and an 18-year-old were both questioned at Bethel Street Police Station in Norwich and have now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A third youth, a 16-year-old, remains in custody.

Yesterday's arrests follow a special operation run in the city on Thursday, April 24, where seven properties across Norwich were raided and three people arrested in connection with metal thefts.

Thousands of pounds worth of metal was seized including reels of metal wiring, copper piping and pressure washers.
