Two burglaries in Taverham in the early hours of the morning are being linked by police.

Both incidents happened between 2.30am and 2.50am on Friday, May 28 at a shopping complex in Victoria Road.

The Lucky House Takeaway and Canary Tanning Studio were both broken into and the tills were stolen.

A member of staff at Lucky House said about £230 cash was in its till, and a similar amount was believed to have been in the other till.

PC Steve Coe, at Taverham police station, who is investigating, said: “Both burglaries took place around the same time and access to the two premises is gained through a communal door.

“The tills were taken from both properties and damage was also done to the doors.

“We have carried out house to house enquiries in the area but would appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.”

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the area between the times stated or from anyone with information in relation to the suspects.

Contact PC Coe at Taverham police station on 0845 456 4567 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
