Talent team to host traditional Christmas show
Norfolk's Got Talent winner featured in Norwich Christmas show
An old-fashioned Christmas show organised by the team that put together Norfolk’s Got Talent and featuring its winner Jade Grand could become an annual event at Norwich’s Assembly House.
The show, which will be performed on Friday, December 10 and Wednesday, December 22, both at 7.30pm, has been organised by Norwich-based events and performance company Mixed Voice, which was formed in 2007 with the objective of bringing together East Anglia’s finest singers, dancers, actors and musicians to stage shows and events that rival the standard of the West End.
It is run by Josh Lincoln, Rick Greer and Joe Ringer, who said: “This will be our first Christmas show and we are hoping that it becomes an annual institution at the Assembly House. It will be an old-fashioned Christmas show with familiar Christmas songs.
“There’s something for all ages. From traditional carols such as Silent Night, through the hits of Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and other Christmas crooners, to ‘Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree’ and other modern day classics.
“It will feature specially arranged solos, duets and group songs, as well as the 30 strong Mixed Voice choir, all backed by our live band.
“We have already done a really successful show at the Assembly House this year and hope this will be just as successful.”
Jade Grand was one of more than 70 acts to enter the Norfolk’s Got Talent contest, which was backed by the Evening News, and aimed to find the best new talent in the region.
Miss Grand, who lives in Old Costessey, said she was “gobsmacked” to win the title in July and was delighted with both the experience and exposure it gave her. She wants to study equine science at university, but has decided to put it off for a year.
Tickets £9 (£11 on the door) available from www.mixedvoice.co.uk or by calling Prelude Records on 01603 628319.
