Brother and sister Elliott Garry and Kayleigh Oxborrow wrote an impassioned letter to Sainsbury's Pound Lane for help to raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Their friend Perrie Greaves died of cancer in November 2012 aged 21.
Perrie and his family had great support from the charity and the siblings decided they would devote their spare time to raising money for teenagers affected by the disease, and have already raised £2,000 by organising a large football tournaments and held a giant raffle.
The store's manager, Andy Stewardson, presented the brother and sister with their donation of £150 from the store's community budget.
Mr Stewardson said: 'When we heard how Elliott and Kayleigh had lost their young friend we were really pleased to be able to support them in their fundraising.'
