Finding outfits to wear for work during the summer can leave you hot and bothered, so two fashion and two recruitment experts in Norwich pick their favourite office outfits that will leave you looking smart and feeling cool, writes EMMA HARROWING

Deciding what to wear for the office during the summer can be a challenge. Can you wear sleeveless tops, can you get away with wearing sandals and should you wear bright colours in the boardroom?

There is a lot of style philosophy surrounding what you should and shouldn't wear to create a good impression at work, but so long as your company doesn't have any rules over what you wear there are many different looks you can go for when the weather gets too warm for tights and boots.

To help you get ahead when it comes to your summer office wardrobe, I teamed up with Jarrold stylist Laura Garrow and recruitment consultants Annabelle Jennings and Claire Bush, from Pure Resourcing Solutions on Queen's Road, to put together our favourite office looks for this summer.

Laura Garrow, stylist at Jarrold.

The nautical look was given a smart update as Laura teamed a classic navy and white striped dress with a plain navy blazer, a big tan leather bag and a pair of leather wedge sandals. Laura says: 'Summer trends can be worn to the office, just make sure that you keep your look tailored and your accessories smart so that you keep a sense of professionalism to your look.'

Annabelle Jennings from recruitment consultancy Pure Resourcing Solutions.

Annabelle created a twist on office staple the shift dress by choosing a Breton style red and white stripe dress worn with a lightweight navy cardigan. Annabelle accessorises her outfit with a red bag and red patent pumps to give a polished finish to the look.

Annabelle says: 'I love bright colours and summer is a great time to add a touch of cheer to your work outfit.'

Claire Bush from recruitment consultancy Pure Resourcing Solutions.

Take your office suit into summer by replacing your shirt with a chiffon blouse, add colour with a necklace and wear with a pair of smart flats. Claire also added a touch of this season's trends into her look by accessorising with a laser cut leather handbag. Claire says: 'I wanted to create a look for the mature business woman that takes classic elements but adds a contemporary twist. This look oozes professionalism, especially if this outfit is worn with slicked back hair and a modern make up look.'

Who said shorts should only be restricted to the beach? This summer tailored shorts are featured in many collections with some labels creating matching jackets to create the perfect summer suit for the office. Teaming shorts with a smart pastel shirt worn buttoned up to the neck and a pair of classic court shoes gives you a smart look for the boardroom.

Emma says: 'You can feel comfortable and cool in the office during summer without sacrificing your smart attire. This look is a great look if you like your legs, but if you prefer to cover up a bit swap the shorts for a pair of patterned or plain pyjama style trousers and roll them up at the bottom to reveal your ankle.'
