One of the stars of a new box office blockbuster dance movie is heading to Norfolk to teach local youngsters.

Streetdance 3D actor Sianad Gregory will visit Cromer later this month in a major coup for a local dance school, thanks to its own high-profile showbiz connections.

Marlene's School of Dancing boss Marlene Duniam's twin dancing daughters, currently doing a world tour with the Pet Shop Boys, were at theatre school and share a house in London with Sianad.

British-made Streetdance 3D tells the story of street and ballet dancers being forced to work together, and showcases the skills of well known dance acts such as Britain's Got Talent winners Diversity.

Sianad, who plays ballet dancer Chloe in the movie, will visit Marlene's

dance school on Saturday, June 26 from 2-4pm, and teach youngsters the final dance from the Streetdance movie.

Mrs Duniam said Sianad and her 23-year-old twins Polly and Sophie had been friends since they were in the same year at the Lane Theatre School in 2006, and agreed to her request to hold a workshop.

Her girls, who danced on the Cromer Pier summer show and starred as the Home Farm twins on children's television in their earlier careers, are touring as backing dancers and singers to the Pet Shop Boys, including a Glastonbury appearance later this month.

Demand for the limited number of spaces at the Cromer workshop is expected to be high as the movie has been a smash hit at cinemas, and TV talent shows had sparked a renewed interest in street dance from boys as well as girls.

Marlene's school is also holding a summer school from July 26-30 with lectures from professionals in the singing, dance and musical theatre worlds. To book one of the 30 places which cost £110, or one of limited spaces for the session with Sianad, which cost £10, phone 01263 515288.
