A Sprowston woman has organised a dance show in memory of her teenage brother, who died of meningitis.

Carly Fryman has enlisted the help of the dance students she teaches at Dynamic Dance to stage the performance this summer to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation.

In January, her 19-year-old brother, Ryan Sweatman, died in his sleep from meningococcal septicaemia after returning to university from his home in Coltishall.

Already, more than 9,000 has been raised in his memory.

Mrs Fryman, 24, said: 'We just can't believe how much support we have had, it has been totally overwhelming.

'This is the worst thing that has ever happened to us, but hopefully something good can come out of it by raising awareness and helping other people.'

It is the second tragedy to hit the family as another brother, Joe, died from meningitis 21 years ago when he was just two months old.

Mrs Fryman, of Cromwell Road, said: 'This is a disease we really want to try to eradicate.'

Mrs Fryman only recently set up Dynamic Dance and she said that being able to channel her energy into making her new business a success and organising the show had helped her through a very difficult time.

The show will feature dancers from a range of different age classes and ability, from age three through to adult, and will be taking place at the Open youth venue, in Bank Plain, on Saturday, June 23, with performances at 3pm and 7pm.

Tickets are 7 for adults and 5 for children under 12 and can be bought by contacting Mrs Fryman by calling 07828 456106 or emailing dynamicdancenorwich@hotmail.co.uk.
