Forget the Calendar Girls, it's the Calendar Boys who have been raising eyebrows at a Spixworth social club.

Members of the social club on Crostwick Lane posed naked with items related to the club, such as pints of beer and packs of cards, strategically placed – with money raised from calendar sales going to the Sue Ryder charity.

Calendar organiser Suzanne Hastings works in the charity's shop in Old Catton, and said: 'It's a worthwhile charity and it provides care homes for people with neurological diseases such as dementia and at the end of their lives.'

Seven male members of the club are featured in the calendar, which was shot in two hours, with the club members hoping to raise more than £300.

Mrs Hastings added: 'People were great on the night and it was a laugh with pants and clothes flying everywhere.

'My brother, Neil Hastings, who is the chairman of the social club, came up with the idea of a naked calendar after staff at the Sue Ryder shop did a staff calendar to raise money for charity last year.

'We decided to do something a bit different and a bit more fun. So I just went round and asked if people were up for it and there was a great response.

'Maybe the ladies will do it next year.'

• The calendars are priced at £5 and can be bought from Spixworth Social Club or the Sue Ryder shop in Old Catton.
