The spirit of the ‘60s Mods has been brought to Norwich market with the opening of a new specialist store.

3Generations was opened on Saturday by Gini Dorling-Winterbourne, of Rackheath, together with special guest Bob Manton from 80s Mod band The Purple Hearts.

The store, which sells a range of gifts and t-shirts, has been an online success for Mrs Dorling-Winterbourne, 45, who decided it was time to bring it to the market, having previously worked on an egg and mushroom stall there as a teenager.

On Saturday, she was joined by Mr Manton, the Norwich Mods Scotter club and her husband Winnie, and eight-year-old son Reuben, for the launch.

She said: “I used to sell stuff at the rallys; a few pin badges and key rings. It was more for the club than anything, but I decided to work on a website and the website went on to this.”

She added that she wanted the stall, which faces City Hall, to also help list events for the Mods Northern Soul scene, as well as those who like Ska.
