Faith groups, charities and local stakeholders are to meet in Norwich next week to examine the major issues facing our communities.

The conference on social justice is being held at the King’s Centre, on King’s Street, and features various speakers including the bishop of East Anglia and Norwich City Council leader Alan Waters.

Representatives from eight local organisations will give talks on the challenges people face who are experiencing social deprivation.

Delegates will be asked to explore ideas for greater co-operation between their charities.

Event organisers said 180 delegates from various organisations and services have already registered their attendance.

Council leader Alan Waters said: “Reflecting the national picture, Norwich faces a number of challenges around inequality that need to be addressed collectively.”

The conference takes place on Monday, January 29 from 9.30am.
