Temperatures are set to plunge this weekend, as forecasters warn snow showers could return to the region.
The Beast from the East saw most of the country swept by heavy snow and ice at the end of February, with roads brought to a standstill and schools closed.
And while the weather will not come close to the severity of that cold snap, a cold blast from the east may bring near-freezing temperatures with it.
MORE: The best snow videos from the Beast from the EastDan Holley, a forecaster at Weatherquest, said on Twitter that a 'marked windchill is likely and some snow is possible', but that it was too early to say where, when or how much.
He said: 'There is going to be a cold spell. However there is a bit of uncertainty about how quickly that cold wind will come in from the east.
'Once the cold air is in place, we are looking at highs of two or three degrees. There will be quite a noticeable wind chill.'
He said the region might see some snow showers, but that it would not compare to the effects of the Beast from the East.
