Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a 'remarkable man' who founded a popular city pipe band.
In 1978, Pipe Major Sid George - along with another piper and a drummer - founded what was then known as the Norwich and District Pipe Band.
During 1997, the band changed its name to City of Norwich Pipe Band.
Mr George died on Tuesday, June 12 after a period of illness.
A spokesman for the band said: 'Sid was a remarkable man who was always enthusiastic, passionate and totally dedicated to the band.
'Many players in the band remember Sid with great affection and have good reason to be grateful for his encouragement and patience.
'Based on the solid foundations laid by Sid, the City of Norwich Pipe Band has enjoyed great success at home and abroad.
'He will be deeply missed. A very special man.'
The funeral will take place at St Faith's Crematorium on Tuesday, June 26 at 2pm.
