A Norwich City Football Club legend will sound the starter horn at this year's Run Norwich.
Grant Holt, 36, will officially start Sunday’s 10km run, which will see around 6,000 competitors stream through the Fine City’s historic streets.
Mr Holt follows in the footsteps of television cook Delia Smith, who started last year’s race, and former England goalkeeper David James, who did the honours in 2015.
A striker, Mr Holt scored 78 goals for the Canaries between 2009-2013, and won the player of the season award three times.
He lives in Norfolk and regularly does ambassadorial work for the football club and Run Norwich event organisers, the Community Sports Foundation.
Mr Holt played in Scotland last season, where he helped Hibernian to win the Championship title.
The race starts at 9.30am on Gentleman’s Walk in front of Norwich Market, and finishes in front of the City Hall.
