The Norwich branch of the Royal Naval Association have secured the band of HM Royal Marines Portsmouth, “The Royal Band”, to play in concert in aid of Royal Navy and Royal Marine charities at the Theatre Royal on Sunday May 27 next year.

Branch secretary Keith Smith is already excited about the visit, saying: “We are extremely lucky to secure the services of what is without doubt one of the premier military bands in the world.

“Apart from playing great music, Royal Marine bands deploy to Afghanistan in support of 3 Commando Brigade, covering a wide range of duties from ambulance driving to radio operators.

“This is our opportunity to welcome them to Norwich and show them our support.”

Tickets for the performance will go on sale later this year.
