A rogue trader is believed to be targeting homes in Buxton and residents are warned to be on the lookout.
On Tuesday a woman called at a property in the area offering the resident various items for sale and attempting to enter the property.
The homeowner refused entry and the suspected rogue trader left. She is described as being white with black hair, aged around 50 and with an Irish accent. The incident occurred at about 10.30am.
Witnesses should contact the Operation RADAR Team at Norfolk Constabulary on 0845 4564567.
Norfolk County Council's Trading Standards Officers advise residents never agree to have work done, or buy goods from, someone that calls unannounced at their door, or approaches them on the street.
