Former pupils from all over the country return to Norwich to remember their school days.
Memories of walking down Earlham Road in Norwich many moons ago clad in purple stockings and grey shorts raised plenty of laughs when the Lonsdale girls got back together again.
The school may have closed back in 1988 but the bond of friendship between the former pupils is stronger than ever.
And that's down to the annual reunions which have been given a new lease of life and are attracting Lonsdalians from across the country and abroad.
Apart from Norwich and Norfolk, girls returned to the city for the get together from Essex, Suffolk, Kent, Lincolnshire, Wiltshire, Surrey and Cambridgeshire.
The latest reunion was held at the Oaklands Hotel and one of the organisers Pamela Dickerson, who runs the Tudor Galleries next to the Theatre Royal, said: 'We had a fantastic time and a splendid turn out.
'There was much laughter and enjoyment, meeting up with everyone and trying on old uniforms. What a sight we must have looked walking down Earlham Road to the Recreation Ground for games. We wore the purple stockings with suspenders for hockey!' she said.
Among the VIPs at the reunion were some wonderful women who were pupils at Lonsdale in the 1930s.
The most senior of them was Josephine Lenton (Self), a pupil from 1923 to 1932 who is 97. Followed by Queenie Thatcher (Powell), Muriel Spinks (Morgan), Beryl Manthorpe, Barbara Ranson, (Anne Ling), Jeanette Brown (Postle), Molly Wellbank (Fulcher). Monica George (Mack) and Judith Ball (Swain).
'All these wonderful ladies of the 1930's are so full of spirit and energy,' said Pamela.
'It was a joy to behold how everyone mingled together from the younger ones, ranging through the years, exchanging wonderful stories of Lonsdale School.
'In bringing former Lonsdalians into the present way of keeping in touch we thank Christine Lovell (Lowe), a pupil from 1978 to 1981 who set up the Lonsdale Boarding School Face Book,' added Pamela.

Lonsdale was one of the oldest independent schools for girls in the land.
It was first established at West Pottergate in Norwich of 1823 before moving to Earlham Road in 1895. The school closed, amid much anger, in 1988 and the buildings are now homes.
