In the same edition that you herald the opening of the new Rose Lane car park, you also remind us of the impending closure of the logical route from that car park to every road in a sweep from Ipswich Road around to Dereham Road.

That logical route is Rose Lane, Farmers Avenue, All Saints Green and Queens Road, but closure of All Saints Green to 'normal' traffic will stop that, leaving no logical alternative but to divert along Ber Street and enter Queens Road at the very difficult junction with Finklegate.

Strange as it may seem, I feel the city centre is actually losing its vibrancy with the city council's policy.

I'm sure Queens and Chapelfield Roads are already suffering from the increase in traffic being forced to travel round the centre, and Theatre Street becomes a farce on a Saturday as soon as the Assembly House car park is full.

Perhaps, like recent climate predictions, the eventual reality often does not confirm the modelling used by the experts. Perhaps nature and human actions are still too unpredictable.
