Reader Letter: Cyclists think they own the roads

While driving past Wroxham/Hoveton on Sunday, August 20 I came across yet another cycle event: The Round Broads Tour.
On driving further alone I came across some 30 plus cyclists, not in a single file or two abreast but all over one side of the road. I thought I was in the Tour De France! This made passing very dangerous as I kept having to move into a crowd of cyclist to let oncoming traffic pass.
Later, when approaching a crossroads where I had right of way, two cyclist just rode over not looking; luckily I was not closer to them or there would have been an accident.
These cyclists think they own the roads, most are considerate and move over but it is the motorists that pay road tax for the use of the roads, what do they pay?
