Competition is hotting up as the quest to find Norfolk's most talented performers reaches its latest heat - with those on the shortlist ranging from classical musicians to street dance acts.

Norfolk's Got Talent was launched in March in a bid to find the very best homegrown talent, giving people the chance to shine on the stage.

The competition, backed by the Evening News, received scores of entries including singers, comedians and magicians, but in the end just 32 made the final cut.

Those acts now go forward to a series of heats to be held at The Talk in Norwich. The competition has reached heat three of four and the acts hoping to impress judges Joe Ringer, Holly Graham and Heather Milan to win a place in the final are:

Aduros, a ukulele and singing duo made up of Sam Davison, 17, and Tobias Paterson, 17, from Hainford. They describe themselves as 'proper Norfolk boys' who take modern pop and R 'n' B songs and mash them together with rock and pop anthems to create exciting melodies. Their cheeky take on the favourites saw them reach the last 200 of the popular television show Britain's Got Talent.

Maryam Moghadam, 21, a flute soloist from Norwich. She has been playing the flute for 12 years and is currently studying music at the University of East Anglia. Miss Moghadam passed her grade eight music exams with distinction at the age of 12. She has competed in a number of competitions and describes the flute as giving her a 'second voice'. She hopes to become a professional performer.

Ozziate Gorma, 18, a singer from Saxlingham Nethergate. She has performed in both gospel and classical choirs, often as a lead soloist. She won the Barnados Choir of the Year competition earlier this year, giving her the opportunity to sing at the Royal Albert Hall. She established her own gospel choir at her school and discovered a passion for conducting. She has performed across Europe.

Dynamo, 20, is a singer/rapper from Norwich. He writes and produces his own music in genres ranging from R 'n' B to dubstep, hip hop and grim. He has performed at venues across Norwich including Media, Po Na Na and Bar X.

Backstreet Energy are an all girl street dance group, aged between 15 and 26 from Norwich. They perform hip hop with a twist and were established in 1997. Achievements to date include qualifying for a London dance competition.

Steve Earl, 56, is a singer from Costessey. He performs swing, light jazz and ballads in the style of artists like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett but says he is not a tribute act. He has performed at venues across East Anglia.

Lucy and Brother Joe, 12, a ventriloquist from Heacham. The act centres around Lucy and her 'very naughty' brother Joe. She has performed her ventriloquist act at various charity shows and has performed in a show with Derek Martin (Charlie Slater in Eastenders). She is currently training at Pineapple Performing Arts.

Hung Sing Lions, a Chinese lion dancing act from Norwich. They perform an energetic and dynamic cross between traditional and contemporary Chinese lion dancing. Part of Hung Sing Martial Arts School, they have performed around the country including appearances in central London and on Look East.

The heat will be held on Wednesday at The Talk in Oak Street, Norwich. Two from each heat will go through to the final on July 4. Tickets can be purchased by calling The Talk on 01603 660220, visiting www.norfolksgottalent.co.uk or on the door on the night for 4.
