Pylons and wires which have been part of skyline on edge of Norwich for decades are pulled down
Pylons and wires which have been part of the skyline on the edge of Norwich for years have been removed.
Work to remove 15 pylons and almost three miles of overhead lines in Trowse has recently been completed.
UK Power Networks, which owns and operates the electricity networks in the East of England, London and the South East, first installed more than three miles of underground cable, before removing the overhead lines and pylons over recent months.
Project manager Paul Reed said: “The pylons have been part of the skyline in Trowse for decades but residents have seen quite a change in what they can view from the windows of their homes.
“We completed this project without affecting power supplies locally and we appreciate residents’ patience during the periods when traffic diversions were required.
“We worked hard to keep any disruption to a minimum.”
