Norwich has retained a prestigious Purple Flag for the quality of its night-time entertainment.
In a similar vein to Blue Flags for beaches and Green Flags for parks, a national accreditation scheme awards Purple Flags to town and city centres which have entertaining, diverse, safe and enjoyable nights out.
Norwich was awarded a Purple Flag last year and Norwich Business Improvement District (BID) has announced the status has been retained for another year.
To get the award, Norwich BID worked with licensed premises, the city council, the police and other organisations. That saw the creation of the Late Night Norwich scheme.
Stefan Gurney, executive director of Norwich BID, said: “The Purple Flag award reflects the hard work and dedication that all partners have put in to make the city an amazing place.”
