ROMEO AND JULIET

Norwich Theatre Royal, February 1-4, 29.50-6.50, 01603 630000, www.theatreroyalnorwich.co.uk

Some of the ballet world's most accomplished and artistic soloists take to the Theatre Royal stage as Moscow City Ballet return to Norwich.

Formed in 1988 by the distinguished Russian choreographer Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, the company will be presenting Romeo and Juliet, one of the best-loved ballets in its repertoire. The company has a range of talented soloists and a sublime corps de ballet, all trained in the best traditions of the Russian school. Prokofiev's score is generally regarded as one of the greatest ever written for a full length ballet, providing the tragic young lovers with some of his most powerful and lyrical music, performed live by the Moscow Ballet Orchestra. Moscow City Ballet's distinctive style is due to the dedication of Smirnov-Golovanov and his wife, principal teacher Ludmila Nerubashenko.

MADE IN CHINA/30 CECIL STREET

Junction, Cambridge, February 1, 10 (8 cons), 01223 511511, www.jucntion.co.uk

An intriguing dance double bill. Made in China is a hilarious and unsettling examination of what it means to be an unwitting consumer in a hyper-communicative world. 30 Cecil Street uses a film shot by Dan Canham as the basis for an original piece of dance-theatre that's an eloquent elegy for a lost theatre
