This weekend's line-up includes, which began with a comedy night in London in the 1980s and has since grown to be the country's biggest comedy chain, has recently arrived in Norwich to host Friday and Saturday night 90-minute shows at Project on Riverside.

This weekend's line-up includes Paddy Lennox (pictured) whose Northern Irish background is the source of much of his storytelling style. John Smith is a deaf comedian who following on from his hugely successful, first stand-up appearance late in 2005, has moved on to bigger things. Anthony King, who has previously supported Lee Evans, Eddie Izzard and Jo Brand, will be giving a combination of his own true-life experiences mixed in with a whole bunch of lies.

Meanwhile Steve Harris's comedic ability comes from his flexibility and warm nature and he is a master of both the obvious and a comedy Ninja of the not so obvious.

JASON BYRNE

Norwich Playhouse, September 3, 15, 01603 598598, www.norwichplayhouse.co.uk

Roll up, roll up as Edinburgh's top selling comedian arrives back at the Playhouse to hotwire your comedy funny bones with his brand new show, Cirque du Byrne.

Brought to you by the ringmaster of tom-foolery himself, this promises to be another anarchy packed show of acrobatic proportions.

The Irish comic's inspired, original brand of high-energy intelligent lunacy ensures that there aren't many other stand-ups that can touch him at the moment and his sell out shows have attracted accolades including Chortle Award for Best Headliner 2007, Perrier Newcomer Award Nomination 1998 and Perrier Award Nomination 2001.

Though he has appeared on everything from Live At The Apollo to Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford, as well as his own Radio 2 programme The Jason Byrne Show, it's a credit to him that he has retained the cutting edge that other mainstream comics have lost.

LEE NELSON

Norwich Arts Centre, September 25, 22.50, 01603 660352, www.norwichartscentre.co.uk

If u is reading this then u is an idiot coz u don't have to! But seeing as you are, you'd be mad innit to miss this date on another spin-off tour from the hit BBC3 show.

Comedian Simon Brodkin — the man who inhabits Lee Nelson — has actually being perfecting his chavvy for a few years. Initially as part of Al Murray's TV series Personality Disorder before bagging a TV series all to him-self, showcasing Lee along with a few other of his comic characters.

The resulting show seemed to divide opinion but, but even its critics admit it had its moments and his many other characters, such as Jason Bent the prancing footballer, are pretty funny too.

See what the fuss is about here as he dons his 'tracky-bottoms' and gold-chains for a whole evening of comic characterisation. Now that is well good, innit?
