EMILIANA TORRINI
Norwich Arts Centre, July 27
The hugely-talented Emiliana Torrini will be performing songs from her critically-acclaimed album, Me and Armini. Following on from her critically-acclaimed sets Love In The Time Of Science and her first for Rough Trade Fisherman's Woman, the latest album sees Emiliana working once again with her long-time producer/collaborator Dan Carey.
Released in September last year Me and Armini has won the hearts and minds of listeners across the globe with Emiliana's soaring voice centre stage, bolstered by a rich gamut of musical styles.
The pedigree paring of Emiliana's song writing and Carey's sonic alchemy previously combined to world-beating effect when they co-wrote/produced Slow for Kylie and individually when Emiliana sang Gollum's Song on the Lord Of The Rings soundtrack. Dan's production work also included the most recent Franz Ferdinand album and Hot Chip records. Support comes from Island Line.

VANILLA KICK
Waterfront, July 29
The Tilting Sky presents an EP launch party for Vanilla Kick, who formed at high school back in 2004, and quickly earned a place in the finals of Next Big Thing.
With a mutual love of emotionally-charged anthemic rock they began to make music for lovers of the likes of Radiohead, Muse, Bloc Party and Sigur Ros.
Five years later and the band have now developed their sound into a unique blend of twisted melodies and soaring choruses. Wednesday sees Vanilla Kick celebrate the release of their brand new EP recorded locally at the Mill Studio under the watchful eye of producer Jonny Cole.
Vanilla Kick's guests for the gig have been carefully chosen from the wealth of musical talent presently on offer in Norwich. Expect a glittering mix of stylish songwriting, distinctive vocals and crunching guitars from The Romance Of Ballooning, Uh Ohs and Felix Riley.

EXAMPLE
Po Na Na, July 30
A middle class white rapper from Fulham who once won a national Post Office poetry competition isn't your usual hip hop star.
Elliot Gleave - aka Example, has won over doubters though. And life with him is certainly never dull could never be one of them. He recently received praise as an amateur film-maker as well giving away a pair of his pants as a competition prize.
He first made a name for himself with his debut album What We Made back in 2007, along with a series of mix-tapes including We Didn't Invent The Remix and What We Almost Made.
However, this year has seen him come back with a far more electro-orientated sound which has witnessed collaborations with A1 Bassline, and more recently, eccentric Dutch producer Don Diablo on Hooligans, a sure-fire summer anthem.
Here he headlines the first electro, indie-rave and b-boy rave night at Po Na Na from young local promoters WTF!
