Homes and businesses in the Great Yarmouth area and parts of north Suffolk were without electricity for a short period this afternoon (Sunday).
Energy company UK Power Networks said an overhead power line was damaged by a tractor at about 2.20pm today.
A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: 'Power was briefly interrupted to several thousand customers in Great Yarmouth at 2.23pm today and shortly afterwards we received a report that a tractor had brought down an overhead power line.
'We sent engineers to the scene to make the area safe and can confirm that the driver was uninjured. Staff returned power supplies to everyone within ten minutes.'
It is understood that customers in Yarmouth, Gorleston, Ashby, Flixton, Corton and Blundeston were among those affected, but with all supplies quickly returned to those living and working in the NR29, NR30, NR31 and NR32 areas, UK Power Networks apologised for any inconvenience caused.
The spokesman added: 'Safety is our top priority and UK Power Networks always urges people to be vigilant when working near power lines. Our advice is to look out, look up and be aware of what is around you.'
