Creative stalls will be setting up shop in the Market Place every Thursday from 9am - 4pm in a bid to give people another reason to visit the town centre and help boost footfall. The popular market, organised by the borough council, returned to the town last week and will run until September 24, with a special Halloween-themed event on October 29.

Among the crafts, gifts and items of offer are Valerie Goldspink's suncatchers for windows, mirrors and tiles; handmade wood and acrylic pens made by Ronald Cox and unique drawings of East Anglia of yesteryear by artist Derrick Buck, of Enigma Art.

Graham Plant, council leader, said: 'The craft market has grown over the three years, from nine pitches originally to 12, and we have had positive feedback from the traders and the steady stream of customers who visit the stalls. There is a wide range of products, mostly created by Yarmouth people.

'As with the Food Festival, the Christmas and Easter Fairs, and the dog fun day, the aim of the craft market is to offer something slightly different to help further attract residents and tourists into the town centre and support local businesses.'
