A district council has agreed to continue with talks over the sharing of services with another local authority.

In September last year, Broadland and South Norfolk Council (SNC) agreed to explore the possibility of closer working and the sharing of services in a £25,000 feasibility study.

Tonight (April 17), Broadland councillors were updated on the progress of the study, and agreed that no major issues had been identified to suggest it will not work.

The two councils have already collaborated through a shared management arrangement in planning.

Work will now continue on developing numerous ideas and proposals outlined in the progress report, including the financial analysis and possible time-frame.

'The final feasibility study is due to be reviewed for a decision by members at both councils in June/July and this remains the key time for making decisions on how to proceed,' a Broadland spokesman said.
