Police cordoned off a Norfolk village pub after a woman's body was found on the premises.
Forensic officers put up a tent in the beer garden of the Compasses Inn, at Snettisham, where white-suited scenes of crime specialists could be seen going about their work as dusk fell last night.
A car in a garage next to the pub had been covered with a tarpaulin, although it was not clear whether it was part of the investigation.
Uniformed officers stood guard outside the carrstone property, which stands beside a busy main road near the middle of the village.
'Norfolk police are currently investigating a suspicious incident at an address in Snettisham,' said a statement from the force's Wymondham HQ.
'Officers were called to a property in Lynn Road at around 1pm on Tuesday where the body of a female has been located. The death is currently being treated as suspicious.'
